Kiev's allies want to agree on Ukraine ceasefire plan - 1

The United States and other allies of Kiev are ready to approve a plan for a comprehensive ceasefire in Ukraine at a meeting in London next week, the New York Post (NYP) reported, citing a Washington administration official.

„Next week in London we want to decide on a full and comprehensive ceasefire. Then we intend to hold talks with the Russians and say, "So this is the best and final proposal," to find out where both sides are, the publication quoted him as saying.

According to the official, to attract Russia to the negotiations on the proposal in question, Washington could offer Moscow an easing of anti-Russian sanctions and possibly unblocking frozen Russian assets in the West. "The carrot for the Russians could be a look at how we can ease the sanctions that are currently in place against Russia," the NYP source noted. – Another question is what to do with the frozen Russian assets - those 300 billion dollars that are in Brussels, what will happen to them.“

Earlier, Bloomberg, citing sources, reportedthat the US authorities are ready to recognize Crimea as Russian territory within the framework of the peace agreement between Moscow and Kiev. According to the agency, this step demonstrates the desire of US President Donald Trump to achieve a ceasefire and resolve the conflict in Ukraine. The final decision has not yet been made.

Bloomberg also notes that on Thursday Washington presented proposals for a Ukrainian agreement to its allies in Paris. Among them are the easing of sanctions against Russia and the refusal to discuss Kiev's membership in NATO. In addition, the US project assumes that all territories liberated by the Russian Federation will remain under Russian control. Discussions on these plans will continue next week in London.
