SpaceX's American Crew Dragon spacecraft docks with the International Space Station (ISS), the website of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) reported.
The docking took place at 00:04 Eastern Time (06:04 Bulgarian time). Thus, the journey from the launch pad at the US Space Force base in Cape Canaveral (Florida) to the orbital station took the crew about 28 hours.
On board the ship were American astronauts Anne McClain (commander), Nicole Ayers (pilot), Russian cosmonaut Kirill Peskov and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Takuya Onishi (mission specialist).
In mid-March, Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov and American astronauts Nick Hague, Barry Wilmore and Sunita Williams are expected to leave the ISS on Crew Dragon.
Roscosmos and NASA carry out cross-flights under the ISS program. Thus, some American astronauts fly to the ISS on Soyuz spacecraft, and some Russian cosmonauts fly on American Crew Dragon spacecraft.
