The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaia Kallas, wrote today on the X network that the EU shares the sadness and pain of the people of North Macedonia after a fire broke out in a disco in Kocani and 51 people died and 118 were hospitalized, BTA specifies.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic fire that took too many young lives in Kocani“, said Kallas. “My condolences to all those affected by this tragedy. I wish a speedy recovery to the injured“.

European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos also expressed her condolences to the families of the victims.

“My thoughts are with the victims, their relatives and all of North Macedonia in this terrible tragedy“, Kos wrote in Ex.

A total of 51 people died and 118 were injured last night in the “Pulse“ discotheque in Kocani in a fire that broke out during a concert by the popular band “DNA“. According to initial data, the fire was caused by sparks from pyrotechnics used for lighting effects at the concert.

Several people have been arrested and are being questioned. Local media reported that the disco owner was among those arrested.

Bulgarian state institutions assured that Bulgaria shares the pain of North Macedonia after the fire in Kocani and is ready to send assistance.
