The number of victims of the storm that hit the USA has reached 36, President Donald Trump announced.
„We are actively monitoring the severe tornadoes and storms that have hit many states in the South and Midwest – "36 innocent lives were lost," he wrote on his Truth Social page.
According to US media, the victims of the disaster are residents of the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas.
Trump added that units of the US National Guard were deployed to the state of Arkansas to help eliminate the consequences of the destruction and provide assistance to local authorities.
The disaster, which caused tornadoes, dust storms and more than 100 wildfires, affected an area where more than 100 million people live, the Associated Press reported.
