After the war, Ukraine will need the deployment of "ready to fight" European soldiers on its territory, not peacekeeping forces, said Igor Zhovkva, an adviser to President Volodymyr Zelensky, quoted by Agence France-Presse, BTA reports.
"It is not the quantity that matters", he stressed. "It is also about their readiness to fight, to defend themselves, to be equipped and to understand that Ukraine is an integral part of European security," he added.
"Every soldier must be ready to participate in a real battle. That's exactly what Ukrainians have been doing for three years and more. If you are a soldier, you are ready to fight."
Zhovkva, 45, who is involved in the negotiations with the United States in Saudi Arabia, gave an interview to AFP just before the new high-level meeting of the "coalition of the willing" in Paris.
