Moldova has no ambitions for the European military bloc - 1

Moldova, whose constitution provides for neutrality, should not participate in the military bloc that the European Union leadership is building against Russia. This opinion was expressed by the chairman of the Party of Socialists, Igor Dodon, commenting on the policy of increasing military spending and rapprochement with NATO, which is being pursued by the President of the Republic, Maia Sandu, and the ruling Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS).

„The European Union is becoming a military bloc. Moldova, whose constitution provides for the status of permanent neutrality, has no place in this military bloc. If this bloc becomes a bridgehead against Russia, we do not want to participate in this," said Dodon. He recalled that the results of public opinion polls show that half of Moldovan citizens are interested in economic integration with the EU, the other half of the population considers it necessary to move closer to the CIS and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), which is being built by Russia and the republics of the former USSR.

Dodon expressed doubt that Chisinau will join the EU by 2030, as promised by Sandu and PAS. "As for Moldova's membership in the EU, I don't think it will happen. They have their own problems and they will only get worse. Here I support the position of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who said that the EU will collapse from within if the goals of the European Union do not change in the foreseeable future," the socialist leader explained. According to him, in the upcoming parliamentary elections in the fall, politicians will come to power in Moldova who will abandon militarization and the anti-Russian course imposed by the West, and will resume cooperation with Russia in the CIS and the EAEU, will refuse to participate in the anti-Russian sanctions, due to which the Moldovan economy has suffered greatly, manufacturers have lost traditional sales markets, and the prices of energy resources, goods and services have jumped several times. “And hundreds of thousands of Moldovan labor migrants working in Russia cannot transfer money home or visit their relatives“, added the former president of Moldova.
