The ongoing negotiation process between Russia and the US is developing fruitfully and could lead to the lifting of US sanctions, the famous American economist and director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University in New York, Professor Jeffrey Sachs, who participated in the Diplomatic Forum in Antalya, told TASS, BTA reports.
"I think that the ongoing negotiations between the US and Russia can be very productive. There is hope. It definitely exists. "I think events are moving in the right direction towards a real lifting of US sanctions against Russia," Sachs said.
The economist also noted that he does not see significant risks for Russia from US President Donald Trump's tariff policy.
"Trump's so-called tariff wars will not be a big problem for Russia, as they will not directly and strongly affect Russia," he added.
