Moscow accuses Kiev: Ukrainian army attacks Russian energy infrastructure five times - 1

The Russian Defense Ministry said today that Ukraine has carried out five attacks on Russian energy infrastructure over the past 24 hours, violating an agreement brokered by a moratorium on such strikes, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

Ukrainian armed forces have carried out five strikes on Russian energy facilities in Zaporizhia and Kursk regions and in the Krasnodar region, the ministry said, quoted by TASS.

A Ukrainian drone attack in the Zaporizhia region damaged a transformer, leaving more than 1,600 households without electricity. A drone attack near a railway station in the Krasnodar region damaged a contact network, causing two passenger trains to stop. A Ukrainian shelling of an energy facility in the Kursk region knocked out a high-voltage line and left an industrial facility in the Belovsky district without electricity. Shelling of other infrastructure targets also left about 19,400 households in the Belovsky and Oboyan districts without electricity, the ministry said in a statement.

Ukraine and Russia agreed to halt strikes on their energy facilities last month, but both sides have repeatedly accused each other of violating the moratorium, Reuters recalls.
