Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said today that a possible Taurus missile strike on critical Russian infrastructure would be considered Germany's direct involvement in the Ukrainian conflict, Reuters and TASS reported.
The likely future German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has repeatedly said that he supports providing Ukraine with German-made cruise missiles.
“You know, I think it would be useful for the leader of the CDU (Friedrich Merz - ed.) to realize the following. Since it is impossible to launch these cruise missiles without the direct assistance of Bundeswehr soldiers, a strike on any Russian critical transport infrastructure facilities - and as a target /.../ Merz confidently identified the Crimean Bridge /.../ - will be viewed as direct participation of Germany in military actions on the side of the Kiev regime with all the consequences for Germany“, said Zakharova.
“Although it seems to me that we say conditionally “on the side of the Kiev regime“, because the Kiev regime is not a country, but an instrument in this Western manipulation“, she added.
