Kosovo President discusses European integration and security with his Finnish counterpart and leading politicians in Finland

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani is on a working visit to Finland at the invitation of the head of state Alexander Stubb, the Kosovo presidency announced, BTA reports.

During his visit to Helsinki, Osmani will hold a one-on-one meeting with the Finnish president, followed by talks between the delegations of both countries and an official lunch at the presidential palace.

In recognition of their contribution to peace and security in Kosovo, Osmani will present the Finnish Armed Forces with a Presidential Military Medal. Finnish troops are participating in the NATO mission (KFOR) in the country.

During the visit, the Kosovo President will also meet with the Speaker of the Finnish Parliament, Jussi Halla-aho, as well as with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elina Valtonen, who visited Kosovo in September 2024.

Osmani will also participate in an academic discussion at the University of Helsinki on the topic of “Kosovo's Vision for European Integration, Peace and Stability“, where she will present the country's strategic priorities to students, professors and diplomats.

At the end of her visit, she will meet with representatives of the Kosovo diaspora in Finland to discuss current events in the country and thank them for their contribution to the development of Kosovo.

On her personal Facebook profile, Osmani posted a photo with the Finnish President, whom she called “a valued friend of Kosovo“.

“As two freedom-loving countries, we will discuss our shared commitment to deepening cooperation and building a stronger and more secure Euro-Atlantic future for our citizens,“ Osmani wrote.
