Vladimir Putin admits on TV: Russian army has run out of drones - 1

Russia continues to experience a shortage of certain types of weapons, including drones, despite a significant increase in production of military equipment. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday during a meeting of the State Military-Industrial Commission, reports "Reuters"

In a televised statement, Putin said that almost all defense enterprises in the country have fulfilled their production orders for the past year. According to him, the production of weapons, communications, intelligence and electronic systems has more than doubled, and the army has received over 4,000 armored vehicles and 180 combat aircraft and helicopters.

The president emphasized that over 1.5 million drones of various types have been produced, including about 4,000 FPV drones - light and precise models used for targeted strikes - daily. However, Putin acknowledged that the shortage of such means remains tangible.

"I know very well, as do many of those present here - these weapons are still not enough. They are not enough," said the Russian president and added: "I am convinced that all plans to increase production, including drones, will be implemented. They are eagerly awaited at the front."

Putin's statement signals Russia's intention to continue its aggressive military production in the fourth year of the war in Ukraine, even as diplomatic efforts to find a way out of the conflict are underway.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022, Russia has switched to around-the-clock production at military factories, while also acquiring significant quantities of weapons from foreign countries - including Shahed drones from Iran and artillery systems, ballistic missiles and rocket launchers from North Korea.
