Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that he may not attend Pope Francis' funeral, which will take place tomorrow in the Vatican, the Italian agency ANSA reported, BTA reports.
Zelensky specified that he has commitments related to important military meetings that may prevent him from going to Rome.
„If I fail to arrive on time, Ukraine will be represented at an adequate level. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the First Lady will be present. As for me - it is important for me to be here. "Today, various military meetings will be held in Ukraine," he said during a visit to the site of the latest Russian attack on Kiev, carried out on Thursday night.
The presence of the high-level Ukrainian delegation remains confirmed, despite the possible absence of the head of state.
