Dacia has announced a price cut of 2,000 euros for its Spring electric car in France, making the model even more affordable, now with a starting price of 16,900 euros.
The updated version of the Spring is equipped with a 33 kW engine, which provides the same range of 225 km. But why is all this being done? This strategy is aimed at the looming Chinese competition.
In particular, we are talking about Leapmotor - a Chinese brand that is entering Europe with the help of Stalantis and which has also made a significant price cut and offers the T03 model for 14,900 euros.
At the same time, Volkswagen has also reduced the price of its ID.3 electric car, which can now be purchased in France and Germany for less than 30,000 euros. But will all this be enough?
These pricing maneuvers reflect the desire of European automakers to increase the share of electric vehicles in sales and meet strict EU environmental regulations that will come into force in 2025.
