The revenue of the Suez Canal Economic Zone in the financial year 2023-2024 as of the end of February 2024 reached 5.3 billion Egyptian pounds (approximately 111.8 million USD). "As at 29 February 2024, the economic zone's total revenue for the financial year 2023-2024 reached £5.3 billion. This is 54% more than last year, when at the end of February the profit was 3.45 billion pounds. Net profit was 3.74 billion pounds, up 57% from last year's figure of 2.38 billion pounds," said the Chairman of the General Directorate of the Economic Zone, Walid Gamal Al-Din.
During the fiscal year in question, the economic zone saw an “unprecedented increase in revenues received from the implementation of projects and the conclusion of new contracts in the industrial zones”, which, as Gamal al-Din pointed out, shows the success of the strategy of the main guide aimed at attracting investment in the industry. In particular, on February 28, the Egyptian State Fund and the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone signed seven agreements with international development companies for cooperation in the field of green hydrogen and renewable energy with an investment potential of $40 billion in the first 10 years of joint projects .
