Inflation in Germany slowed further in March and amounted to 2.2% on an annual basis. The data was published by the German Federal Statistical Office.
"Inflation in Germany in March 2024 is expected to be 2.2%. This is the minimum value since April 2021 (2%), in May 2021 the value was also 2.2%, the department notes. In February, inflation reached 2.5%, in January - 2.9%. Compared to the previous month, consumer prices in March are expected to increase by 0.4%.
The German economy is going through a serious crisis. The GDP of the country decreases in 2023 compared to the previous year by 0.3%. Experts from the German Federal Statistical Office noted at the end of last year a decline in the purchasing power of the population due to the rise in consumer prices.
