Bad days for the largest aircraft manufacturer continue - 1

Deliveries to the American aircraft manufacturer Boeing have decreased by almost one and a half times in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period last year - from 130 to 83 aircraft, the company's report states.

The reason for the decrease is the increased number of inspections after the depressurization of an Alaska Airlines flight in January.

According to Ag. Reuters the drop in deliveries is also linked to a reduction in production of the Boeing 737 MAX narrow-body aircraft. “We are intentionally slowing down production to correct it,” said Boeing Chief Financial Officer Brian West.

In January, the US regulator decided to suspend the operation of these planes due to a depressurization of an Alaska Airlines flight on January 5. This incident was followed by a wide wave of inspections by the US National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.
