The richest country in metals extends by 6 months the ban on the export of scrap from non-ferrous metals  - 1

The Ministry of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan will extend the ban on the export of scrap and waste of ferrous and non-ferrous metals from the country for another six months. The restriction takes effect from May 5.

A six-month ban on export from the territory of Kazakhstan with all types of transport of scrap and waste from non-ferrous metals, as well as spent lead batteries, waste and scrap batteries is introduced.

In addition, a ban is introduced for six months on the export from the country by road and sea transport of scrap metal and waste of ferrous metals, as well as pipes, rails, elements of the railway track and rolling stock used, with the exception of used elements of rolling stock imported into the territory of the republic for repair and exported back.

The ban is introduced in order to support the Kazakh metallurgical enterprises in providing them with raw materials in the form of scrap and waste from ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Kazakhstan has been regularly introducing similar restrictions since spring 2021
