Nearly 40% of Ukraine's economy, especially the export of grain and other agricultural products, is in the shadows. “I think according to the latest data on gray grain exports, only our grain traders can give you an expert assessment, but it is clear that there is a share. We thought that if we were talking about the shadow economy, then 40% was the potential figure for the economy to be in the shadows. I think it is obvious that this applies to the agricultural sector, including the export of agricultural products,”, quotes the words of the First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy Yulia Sviridenko. the Ukrainian agency UNN.
Sviridenko added that the concealment of income in foreign currency threatens the financing of the state budget.
Earlier, Deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Dmitry Verbitsky said that the country is losing billions of hryvnias due to unscrupulous enterprises that export grain without paying taxes and to return it foreign exchange earnings .
According to the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, two out of five tons of grain are exported without paying taxes. The total expected damage from this for 2022 is estimated to be over USD 14 million.
