Georgian Railway Management (GZD), representatives of Bulgarian Railways (BGD) and the Bulgarian maritime company P.N.A LTD signed an agreement in Tbilisi to restore ferry traffic on the Black Sea, the press service of the Georgian Railways reported.
Since the beginning of the year, preparatory work has been carried out on the restoration of the announcement that was discontinued 2 years ago. The press office notes that the parties have agreed on all conditions for the resumption of ferry services.
Ferry and rail connections between Bulgaria and Georgia play an important role in the logistics of goods transported across the Black Sea. The restoration of the connection, on the one hand, will ensure the flow of additional freight traffic, and on the other hand, it is vital from the point of view of increasing the efficiency of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor (“Middle Corridor”), State Railways added.
