For 2 years, the American corporation Intel has suspended the implementation of its projects in Europe, including the construction of a semiconductor plant in Poland. This was announced by the Minister of Digitalization of the Republic, Krzysztof Gavkovski.
"Intel is suspending its key projects in Europe, including the construction of a plant in Poland, for 2 years due to the company's global financial problems. Pat Gelsinger, the head of Intel, told me about it”, the minister wrote on X (formerly Twitter). According to him, Warsaw has already received permission from the European Commission to apply for financial assistance for Intel.
In June 2023, Intel announced plans to invest up to $4.6 billion in building a semiconductor assembly plant in western Poland.
