SpaceX Challenges $633,000 Fine - 1

SpaceX has sent a letter to Congress disputing the $633,009 Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) fine for launch safety violations. The text of the letter was posted on the SpaceX page on X (formerly Twitter).

According to SpaceX, the fine was improperly imposed due to "systematic failure to comply with the FAA" of their duties. The space agency notes that “For nearly two years, SpaceX has raised the alarm about the FAA's failure to keep pace with the fast-growing commercial space industry and US national security needs.”. SpaceX claims it is “absolutely committed to ensuring safe operations”, but the FAA has shown an inability to address “relatively minor” cases.

Earlier, SpaceX, Tesla and X owner Elon Musk said his company would never be able to send a man to Mars if the FAA creates bureaucratic obstacles to spacecraft testing. Thus, the entrepreneur commented on a post by one of the users of X, according to which the FAA decided that it was necessary to conduct additional consultations for a period of 60 days regarding the possible impact of noise during testing of the Starship spacecraft on the environment.< /p>
