Velingrad or Mexico, Velingrad or Egypt, Velingrad or the Maldives? You have probably come across various collages on social networks, in which special attention is paid to an offer for the New Year in Velingrad, which drastically exceeds all others in terms of price. There, the hotels for the New Year are half full. They are usually booked for 3 nights, and prices start from BGN 1,000 and reach BGN 14,000, NOVA reported.
„The apartment is about 200 square meters, it has its own sauna. On the first floor there is one room and a very large spacious living room, which is 11 meters, with a living room. On the second floor there are three separate en-suite bedrooms, with one bedroom being more interesting, it has a bath in the middle of the room. The apartment can actually accommodate 8 adults. Its price, about 14 thousand BGN, it has already been sold. We've already taken it down so we don't annoy you. Which is cheaper than four people renting 4 standard double rooms”, explains hotel manager Anna Bozhkova.
The hotel says that the apartment, despite its price, does not remain empty. On weekdays, the price per night is BGN 1,300, and on the weekend - BGN 1,500. “People just look at numbers and very often compare apples and oranges,” adds Bozhkova.
On the same principle, Bansko also announced the promotional price of the season lift pass until the end of November. Purchased by then, it will cost BGN 1,700. “This is the most advantageous card, the more you come, the cheaper it is. If you come on all weekends during the season, your card costs about BGN 45-48 per day. There is no better card, says the marketing director of Ski Zone Bansko. Ivan Obreykov.
The season ticket increases in price by BGN 200, due to the change in the VAT rate in our winter resorts. Now it is already 20 percent, against 9% last year. “There is no resort in Europe that has such a rate, it is 9 percent everywhere, even Serbia. And this is harmful for the whole of Bulgaria, for all the resorts, we share this at meetings with the minister and with people represented in the parliament," he added.
