Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that from 2025 Turkey will receive liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Oman. He said this at a press conference after talks with Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tarek Al Said, who is visiting Turkey.

"In accordance with the agreements between our company Bota and its Omani counterparts, we are entering a new era of cooperation in the energy sector. LNG deliveries from Oman will start in 2025, Erdogan said.

The Turkish leader also indicated that both countries “seek to increase trade turnover to 5 billion dollars”. in the near future. “To date, our contractor companies have successfully completed approximately $7 billion worth of projects. Today we also discussed the contribution our companies can make to the development of Oman by 2040. In this regard, I hope that after the meeting of the Omani delegation with representatives of Turkish business, there will be concrete results”, Erdogan said.
