The price of a kilogram of Carp has been increased compared to last year. This is what our inspection of the fish markets in Burgas shows days before Nicholas Day. If last year we paid BGN 8, this year the price is BGN 9, Nova TV explains.
In order to serve a nice, stuffed carp on the table, it needs to weigh 2-3 kilograms. So we can pay for the fish ourselves. In the commercial network, this type of fish is available in abundance, and the more resourceful buy directly from hatcheries to save at least 30%.
Most customers are not surprised by the price increase. “Looking at the other prices, we are getting used to it and that is it”, says one of the shoppers in Burgas.
Some of the people we talked to explained that they would put fried carp on the table. In this way, they will keep the tradition, and they will not buy a whole fish, which comes out between 2-3 kg.
There is no lack of citizens of Burgas who will choose the Black Sea look for the holiday, which is currently abundant on the market. “We don't eat carp at home, so we will buy something else,”, says another customer.
Traders assure that in the week leading up to Christmas carp will be plentiful and the price will not rise further.
