Russia and the US have something to discuss in the energy sector, because both too low and too high energy prices are harmful to both economies. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
„What is characteristic of the Russian and, say, the American economy? We are not only one of the largest producers of energy resources, we are also the largest consumers of energy resources. This means that for both our and the American economy, too high prices are bad, and too low prices are also very bad“, said Putin, answering a question from VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin.
As the head of state explained, too low prices are bad because „they undermine the investment opportunities of energy companies“. And too high prices complicate the situation, because “using energy resources, you have to produce other goods in the country“. “There is something to talk about with the American side”, the Russian president summed up.
