The return of foreign companies will take place under market conditions - this is the main criterion, the director of the financial policy department of the Russian Ministry of Finance Alexei Yakovlev told journalists.
„These criteria, these can probably be criteria for private industry that can be applied – this process is underway. But probably the main conditions should be that the return should be carried out under market conditions with the presentation of additional criteria that take into account the specifics of the industry“, Yakovlev said.
In addition, he confirmed that the Ministry of Finance has prepared a draft of conditions for the return of foreign companies.
„Of course, those who want to return should be given such an opportunity. The main one is market conditions with the application of additional criteria, taking into account the industries in which they operate. And in any case, so that this does not affect Russian companies that either replaced those who left during this period, or those that, respectively, purchased these assets“, Yakovlev emphasized.
Earlier, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Ivan Chebeskov said that the Ministry of Finance is preparing a list of requirements for the return of foreign companies to Russia in accordance with the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin. In addition, the Deputy Minister of Finance added that the requirements may be announced in the near future.
The President of the Russian Federation, speaking at the RSPP congress, instructed the Russian government to develop a procedure for the return of Western business to Russia with a guarantee of honest business conduct. In addition, the president instructed the government to closely monitor deals to return Western companies that leave the Russian Federation, “slamming the door“.
