The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) advocates a non-discriminatory multilateral trading system and will strengthen its capabilities in the face of US President Donald Trump's tariff policies, the organization said in a statement.
“The SCO member states support an open, transparent, fair, inclusive and non-discriminatory multilateral trading system with the World Trade Organization at its core and are committed to promoting the development of an open world economy“, said the statement released by the SCO press service. "The SCO member states are determined to preserve and strengthen the capabilities of the multilateral trading system, with the WTO at its core, to effectively respond to trade challenges."
The SCO also highlighted the importance of discussing development issues in the work of the WTO and stressed the need to maintain open, inclusive, sustainable, resilient, diversified and secure global supply chains.
