American companies that were part of AmCham lost about $100 billion as a result of leaving Russia, said Robert Agee, president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia (AmCham) in an interview with "Expert".
„About $100 billion. But, I repeat, this figure does not include all possible losses; these are mainly forced discounts. It should be noted that we estimated the losses of companies that are or were members of AmCham and may not include the losses of other American companies“, he said, speaking about the size of losses of American companies as a result of leaving the Russian Federation.
He clarified that the calculation of losses includes the effect as if directly, and not indirectly, related to the restrictions: sales of assets below the cost of investments, discounts. "For example, logistics cost 2% of the cost, but now it costs 5%, there are frozen dividends, etc. You know the estimate of the Russian Direct Investment Fund - 300 billion USD. We do not know how the fund's experts calculated it. But if we estimate and include such effects as loss of market share, growth in operating costs and so on, then we can calculate 300 billion USD. But our estimate is lower", Agee explained.
