Sofia City Court stopped the case against Radostin Vassilev, as he has acquired immunity as a representative of the people, is broadcast by BTA.
The MP is being sued for trying to put pressure on the former MP Hristinka Ivanova. The indictment in the case was filed by the prosecutor's office on July 4. According to the accusation, Radostin Vassilev forced Hristinka Ivanova from "There is such a people" to leave the parliamentary group.
Vasilev did not appear at today's court session. Prosecutor Yordan Petrov pointed out that the case should be stopped due to Vassilev's immunity and actions should be taken to depose him, and according to him, such a request should be made by the court.
„After the case has been brought to court, I no longer have authority,”, he pointed out.
Attorney Ina Lulcheva stated that, in her opinion, the court does not have the function to initiate such a request, since the power rests with the chief prosecutor.
