Hristo Panchugov: The only thing that continues to surprise me in this parliament is the amount of stupidity - 1

And yet another failure to elect the Speaker of the National Assembly is due to a lack of substantive conversation – is there a need for Bulgaria to be governed in some way. The war of position has obscured the horizon of tomorrow.

Political forces and figures demonstrate strength or superiority rather than seeking common ground and the will for a meaningful plan to govern.

This is what political scientist Hristo Panchugov commented to BNR-Radio Sofia.

"The only thing that continues to amaze me about this parliament is the amount of stupidity. The split of the PP-DB (on the question of voting with "Vazrazhdane") today is another proof that not only is there no plan, there is also no desire to draw one up. We get the feeling that this unification was something temporary and to deceive the citizens that something could change."

According to the political scientist, Delyan Peevski's influence is informal, more insidious.
To talk about declarations and formal isolation with a "sanitary cordon" is another piece of nonsense that will achieve no purpose.

"And if everyone signs the declaration about the cordon, this does not mean that Peevski's influence in the administration will be reduced and a process of healing for the state will begin."

According to Panchugov, there are no institutions left whose foundations have not been undermined and destroyed by the trends and behavior of political forces in recent times. Obviously, the parliament is also in such a situation. There is no rule, we don't even have procedures for getting out of such parity and blockage.
"We are like in a pre-modern society where it turns out that it matters who ends up in a given role. The effort to disintegrate is the exact opposite of what a barely democratic system should do," added the political scientist.
