After on Wednesday the Commission for the Protection of Competition referred itself to the allegation of a coordinated increase in the insurance premium of the compulsory insurance “Civil Liability“ of motorists and more specifically of taxi drivers, on Thursday the experts will discuss at their meeting whether there is evidence of such a cartel.
The decision to initiate proceedings will be considered at a closed meeting of the Commission on November 21, 2024. and will be published on the CPC website.
In this regard and within the framework of its powers, the CPC will conduct a study of the reasons for the increase in the prices of the “Civil Liability“ insurance.
The Commission highly appreciates the active cooperation of the public in providing information relevant to the study. Along with the traditional toolkit for conducting the survey, the CPC intends to use information gathered as a result of meetings held with the participants of the relevant market, the regulatory authorities in the sector, as well as experts in the field, the Commission reports.
