Bojanov: Where does our sanitary cordon go if we support Nazaryan tomorrow with Peevski?! - 1

„Today is Thursday, there are no leadership meetings yet. They say “let's test whether a governing majority will appear in the chamber when electing a president to see if there will be a government”. This is absolutely irresponsible and frivolous. If invited, we would go to talks and put the declaration as the top priority first. However, this seems to bother them. Until GERB stops being the host of the political parasite Peevski, this crisis will continue”.

This was stated to bTV by Bozhidar Bojanov from “We are continuing the change - Democratic Bulgaria”.

In his words, it is not about the personality of GERB's candidate for Speaker of the National Assembly, Raya Nazaryan, but about the meaning of such support.

„Imagine that tomorrow we are voting for Raya Nazaryan and Delyan Peevski also decides to vote and the scoreboard shows GERB, PP-DB, “DPS-New Beginning” and where does our sanitary cordon go. Our appeal continues to be to withdraw our candidates, to support the oldest, and for this to be a technical, not a political election with the widest possible majority and then see if the parliament can function or not, Bojanov pointed out.

The first political force must make an effort and fulfill its constitutional obligation, and they have currently hid and bowed down, added the MP from PP-DB.

He also commented on the division between PP and DB on the topic of whether to support Silvi Kirilov, the oldest MP nominated by “There is such a people”, as Speaker of the 51st Parliament.

„I wouldn't look for any big intrigues. Different votes between us and PP have happened before and were again based on different assessment of risks and probabilities. We have appeared together in the elections because we share the main political goals. "From one vote, I don't think we can draw a conclusion that we have such serious divisions that we are not together," Bojanov said.

According to him, the vote was reached after long and productive talks in the parliamentary group and party bodies.

„No one else withdrew their candidate and listening to the debate in the hall, this election turned from technical to political. We have estimated that if we say with our first vote that we are voting for a caretaker prime minister, this will mean that we have crossed out this parliament. We decided that we cannot tell the voters that with the first vote we are sending them to the elections,” said Bozhidar Bojanov.
