The country is heading for another parliamentary election, most likely in the spring of next year. This will happen slowly so that the chief prosecutor can be elected on January 16, who is extremely unwanted by PP-DB and quite acceptable to Boyko Borisov.
This was noted by the sociologist Andrey Raichev to News.bg in a comment on the country, and more precisely, the parliament remaining in a deadlock for another day.
He believes that there is a solution to the parliamentary crisis - to elect the oldest speaker in the 51st National Assembly, Silvi Kirilov. However, what will this give Boyko Borisov? He does not believe that he can form a government with the PP-DB, rather he will take the first mandate and return it. Borisov is in no hurry, because he will not hold elections in January, Andrey Raichev added.
Another freezing of the first session of the parliament due to the impossibility of electing a permanent chairman of the legislative body rests on the dialogue between PP-DB and Boyko Borisov. At this stage, there is no other option, and Borisov is buying time, added Raychev, who sees no reason for the GERB leader to kneel before the PP-DB for the election of the chairman.
Andrei Raichev emphasized that he sees a solution to the political crisis with the creation of a party by President Rumen Radev. He even thinks that the time has come for the head of state to step down from the presidency and enter politics.
Raichev hopes that Radev will make a move before the party. "If he forms a party, it is a request for power and if he gathers half or a million people, it will be the second largest party in Bulgaria and he will deal with Boyko Borisov. If he makes a move, it would be a sign not so much of taking power, but of fighting with someone," commented Raychev.
According to Andrey Raichev, the president's trump card is to step down from the presidency, and the term of the head of state to be completed by the vice president Iliana Yotova. "If President Rumen Radev makes a sacrifice and gives up something that is prestigious, comfortable and well-paid, he will make a very strong gesture to the people. If he is going to do this, he must now do it with a movement, and not become a party leader, which would be unsuccessful," Raichev also said and recalled the experience of President Georgi Parvanov.
He believes that eight parliamentary elections in a row in the spring will be the same and the same stalemate as in the 51st National Assembly, but with President Rumen Radev in the vote "it will be a different story".
About the split of PP-DB
The decision of PP-DB to vote independently and separately for the proposal for the technical chairman of the National Assembly of ITN in the person of Silvi Kirilov also caused comments. Although the PP-DB coalition announced this position in advance, everyone, including Andrey Raichev, is talking about a split. The union of PP-DB is temporary and maybe the time has come to end. It clearly seems that the coalition is heading for a divorce, Andrey Raichev stated and pointed out that there is no strong leadership there. He also pointed out the differences in the coalition from the left-wing ideas of the PP to the right-wing ideas of the DB.
We remind you that even before the last elections there were doubts, mainly in "Yes, Bulgaria", whether to remain in the coalition format.
According to Raichev PP-DB do not register as two separate parliamentary groups for the simple reason that they do not want to miss the second mandate to form a government. Otherwise, the differences in the formation are very big, pointed out Raychev.
