High technology, innovation and defense industry are among the sectors where Bulgaria and Singapore can cooperate. This was indicated by President Rumen Radev, who opened a business forum in Singapore, BNR reported.
The visit of the head of state continues until Sunday. The president's delegation includes representatives of over 20 Bulgarian companies, as well as three ministers - of education, innovation and growth, and tourism.
Possibilities for deepening cooperation between Bulgaria and Singapore are the focus of President Rumen Radev's visit to the most developed economy in Southeast Asia.
This morning the head of state opened a Bulgarian-Singaporean business forum. Radev pointed out that the two countries can cooperate in the field of high technologies:
"The two countries share the understanding that the most important are investments in people, education, innovation and technology. This is the key to success in the future.
Bulgaria and Singapore have a strategic position. Our country is an intersection of all energy and transport corridors between Asia and Europe.
Bulgaria is a place with great opportunities for the development of logistics centers and key infrastructure projects," President Radev pointed out.
Singapore provides easy access to the entire Asia-Pacific region thanks to its strategic location. The country is among the leading trade partners of the European Union.
Singaporean business representatives discuss opportunities to work with Bulgarian companies – President Lennon Tan, President of the Singapore Federation of Manufacturers, also pointed out:
"We are convinced that Bulgaria's strategic place in Europe and the opportunities offered by Singapore will expand the business prospects of both countries," said Tan.
Later today Rumen Radev will talk with the President of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam at the official residence of the head of state - Istana.
Radev will meet with the country's Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong.
A meeting with representatives of the Bulgarian community is scheduled for tomorrow.
