"And before these amendments for the new format of caretaker government, the same parties and politicians brought the country into a similar impasse, an ugly drag. We are witnessing what is called the "tyranny of the minorities". Democracy is truly sustainable when there is a balance, and when it is disturbed - political minorities who do not have the necessary democratic legitimacy to claim more power than the vote assigned them, they collude to bypass the first political power.< /strong>
This is what the constitutionalist Assoc. Borislav Tsekov in the studio of "The Day ON AIR" on the occasion of the third case initiated by the Constitutional Court regarding the amendments to the Constitution.
In his words, we are witnessing a low political culture and an even lower coalition culture.
"An endless cycle of elections - new and new, without taking into account that a significant public resource is being used up, which could be directed much more usefully. 710-720 million BGN spent on elections - this money could have been given to pensioners to cover their expenses. At the moment, the Bulgarian rulers must put aside these contradictions among themselves, it is not about the creation of the world", commented lawyer Dimitar Markovski on Bulgaria ON AIR.
He is of the opinion that the current fate of politicians is such because of the constitutional changes.
"In order to have early elections, the merry-go-round under Art. 99 to form a government. By refusing to elect a president, they are putting the country on the brink of a constitutional crisis, because if the first session lasts a month, more creative solutions will have to be sought. Parliamentarism will have to be stepped on, one of which is the regulated autonomy of the National Assembly and the parliament to adopt "ad hoc" rules", explained Assoc. Tsekov.
According to him, the worst thing would be to go to elections again.
"The rules, including for determining the chairman of the National Assembly, must be determined by this parliamentary group, which is most seriously elected. It's a cycle of constant backbiting, confrontation and opposition. Politicians should not forget what is written above the door of the National Assembly", added Adv. Markovski.
"Ginyo Ganev once said that laws, especially constitutional ones, are not written in anger. They wrote these regulations with great anger. They are responsible. The PP-DB are to blame for this state of the state and for the judiciary," the constitutionalist was categorical, with lawyer Markovski agreeing with what was said.
