We accept the Schengen decision with concern and we cannot be as happy as some other colleagues in the plenary hall, commented the leader of the party “Morality, unity, honor“ (MECH) Radostin Vassilev in front of journalists on the sidelines of the parliament.

The Council of the EU decided today that checks at the land Schengen borders of Bulgaria and Romania will be abolished from January 1 next year, the Hungarian Presidency of the Council of the European Union announced earlier today.

„We are not euphoric about what is happening. Naturally, it is the result of a well-deserved long-term work, but at the specific historical moment we are extremely worried if this is not related to the war in Syria and if someone does not want to hastily accept us in order to become a real point for migrants, said the leader of MECH .

Radostin Vassilev noted that Italy, Germany and some other countries are raising Schengen and introducing a control regime. He pointed out that currently GERD and “We are continuing the change” they exchange remarks about who has done more for our acceptance in Schengen, but according to him, this topic does not excite Bulgarian society so much. It is positive for the transport business, for communications within the union, but it is extremely worrying from the point of view of what follows from here on, Vassilev added.

The leader of the MECH noted that they also moderately accept the overthrow of the regime in Syria, because this could rather lead to a repetition of a situation from many years ago in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya.

Regarding talks with GERB for a government with the first mandate, Radostin Vassilev said that he would never participate in talks with GERB and does not expect the MECH party to be invited to such talks.

The MECH announced that they are considering the creation of a temporary commission to examine “the damage that Vladimir Malinov has caused to the Bulgarian energy industry”.

MEC deputy Krasimir Manov recalled that today in the parliament there was a hearing of the energy minister on the case of the expansion of the storage facility in Chiren. "This minister has already cost the state more than 10 billion,”, he commented.

„The case is not only about Chiren, it is also about the contract with “Botash”, which he was assigned to renegotiate, and he has not done anything yet. His signature is under “Turkish Stream“, he has done nothing for "Chaira", he has done nothing to resolve the case with the Maritsi, and the MECH parliamentary group is discussing the option of creating a temporary parliamentary group to look specifically at the damage, which Vladimir Malinov has inflicted on the Bulgarian energy sector”, said Krasimir Manov.
