The prosecutor in the case against Dogan's former MP Jeyhan Ibryamov - Ivaylo Petrov, has been proposed for deputy city prosecutor of Sofia, reported "Lex".
He is a prosecutor in the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office, but has been seconded to the SGP.
The proposal for his promotion is from Sofia City Prosecutor Iliana Kirilova and will be discussed by the Prosecutor's College next week.
If approved, Ivaylo Petrov will become the eighth deputy to Iliana Kirilova. The others are Bozhidara Ganeva-Dimova, Desislava Petrova, Ivo Iliev, Hristo Krastev, Chavdar Pastovanov, Deyan Zahariev and the recently appointed Marina Nenkova.
Ivaylo Petrov is the supervising prosecutor not only in the case against Jeyhan Ibryamov, but also in the proceedings conducted in absentia against former investigator Petyo Petrov-Pepi Euroto in the "Eight Dwarfs" affair.
The candidate for MP from the Alliance for Rights and Freedoms, Jeyhan Ibryamov, was detained during the election campaign in a parking lot in front of a store in the capital. The prosecutor's office announced at the time that Ibryamov was accused of trading in influence, and the prosecutor's request to parliament stated that from September 25 to October 2, 2024, in Sofia, he requested 200,000 leva. and received half of the amount from witness Miroslav Todorov in order to influence decision-making by officials from the Ministry of Defense.
