Nadezhda Neynski: Without a coalition agreement, the participants in the assembly consumed the negatives - 1

In recent months, we have had technical governments. I continue to argue that it was a mistake that there was no coalition agreement in the assembly. They consumed the negatives, paid the price for what they did, without having the tools that would have given them the opportunity to defend certain economic and political reforms.

This was stated by former Foreign Minister Nadezhda Neynski in the program “Face to Face” on BTV.

In Bulgaria, the most important thing is to defend the path we are moving on. Therefore, it is imperative to have a pro-European majority that can cast a pro-European coalition government that has set a program and has a roadmap for how to implement it. Only in this way can the country's strategic orientation be protected, and not be in a spiral of elections. I do not expect that new elections will yield anything better.

„I categorically do not think that the problem is in the multi-party system. In 2001, before the elections, there was again such a debate that democracy was in danger, the parties were corrupt, had outlived their time and we should look for a savior. I do not believe in saviors. We have tried it several times already”, she pointed out.

„It turned out that democracy, with all its flaws, still creates control mechanisms. When I say that politics is a profession, I mean that when politicians who have a political existence are elected, you know who is behind them and what to expect. One-day projects are usually not created with the aim of protecting the interests of the country and the people in it, but serve some narrow interests. "Therefore, the traditional parties have a huge responsibility and must understand that they must bear it," our diplomat explained.
