Borislavova: My immunity cannot be a bargaining chip, I will give it up before it reaches the hall - 1

My immunity cannot be a bargaining chip in political processes in the National Assembly. This was said by PP-DB MP Lena Borislavova, quoted by bTV, in connection with the information that her immunity will be requested and the statement of GERB leader Boyko Borisov that his party will vote “against“ his removal.

“They will not have to end up in this situation, because I will give up my immunity before it reaches the hall. From “We Continue the Change“ "We insist on principled decisions and Mr. Borisov, if he likes, can use these 69 votes to vote in the hall on laws that will help all of us prevent such arbitrariness from happening again," Borislavova added.

According to information from bTV, the proposal to lift Borislavova's parliamentary immunity is related to suspicions that in 2021 she forged a power of attorney, documents and signatures at the general meeting of the association "Let's Save Coral."

„The request is not yet in the National Assembly, or at least I have not been notified. When it happens there, I will be able to comment“, specified the PP-DB MP.

According to her, the fact that three people from “We Continue the Change“ are being attacked within a week is worrying.

When asked if she had forged documents, she replied: “As I have stated before, I will not comment on the substance of the case, because everything is currently being used to attack “We Continue the Change“ for political purposes and me as its representative“.

Citizens and sympathizers of “We Continue the Change“ protested today in front of the Sofia City Court building on “Cherkovna“ Street. Among them was Lena Borislavova.

The discontent is due to the arrest of Lachezar Stavrev, a former expert in the Ministry of Finance during the term of PP co-chairman Asen Vassilev.
