The Deputy Chairman of the PG of “BSP - United Left“ Ivan Ivanov commented on the air of Nova TV on the political moves of the party, after it was decided at the National Council that a team would negotiate with GERB-SDF. “Boyko Borisov will not be supported for the post of prime minister by us“, he stated categorically. When asked whether they would support another from GERB-SDF for prime minister, Ivanov pointed out that “in this difficult political spectacle, anything is possible“.
According to him, there are no conditions set by the National Council for the possible profile of a future prime minister. „First of all, we need to hear what the views of the first political force are and what it intends to do. The tasks we have are specific, precise and clear - protecting the welfare state, preserving the rules we have set (for increasing incomes, the expenditure part of the budget, the program for investments in municipalities, in healthcare)“, he added.
Ivanov emphasized that a requirement is still set to suspend the procedure for electing Borislav Sarafov as Prosecutor General. „When the Law on the Judiciary is proposed in the plenary hall, we will express our considerations and views on how the procedure can be suspended. To a large extent, this also depends on the formation of a majority, because if there is one, it can elect a new Supreme Judicial Council“, Ivanov also said.
