One person has died, and several are buried and are being searched for after an avalanche in Pirin, BNR reported.
According to initial information, the huge snow mass was caused by skiers who were descending one of the chutes on Todorka Peak towards the Vihren hut.
A group of 7 rescuers, including an avalanche dog, immediately went to the scene. Three have been pulled out so far, one of them has died.
An ambulance with emergency teams is also expected.
Due to higher temperatures in recent days, conditions for skiing outside the ski area in Pirin are risky and there is a high risk of avalanches, the Bulgarian Mountaineering and Skiing Association warned.
