Ban! Uranium found in drinking and cooking water in the village of Sarnitsa

The Regional Health Inspectorate (RHI) in Haskovo has imposed a ban on drinking and cooking water in the village of Sarnitsa, Mineralni Bani municipality. The reason is elevated indicators of the indicators "natural uranium" and "total alpha-activity".

This was announced by the RHI - Haskovo.

The tests showed that the value of uranium in the network was 32.0 micrograms per liter, with an allowable rate of 30.0 micrograms per liter. The radioactivity showed a level of 0.978 becquerels per liter, with a maximum allowed of 0.1 becquerels per liter. The water supply company is ordered to organize the provision and delivery of drinking water to the population with tankers or water carriers.

Such restrictions are not imposed for the first time in Sarnitsa. The water was declared non-compliant with Regulation No. 9 of the Ministry of Health due to deviations in the same indicators at the end of August last year. The ban was lifted on April 11 of this year.
