If there are talks about a government, there will also be talks about the other bodies, with the exception of the Supreme Judicial Council and the Inspectorate. They should be taken out of brackets, because the majority that it must support is more serious. There are two options for governing or for forming a majority for a government - one format is with GERB, the other without GERB."
This was stated to the Bulgarian National Radio by the Speaker of the National Assembly, Assoc. Prof. Natalia Kiselova.
"The question at the moment is whether the largest parliamentary group should participate. Without GERB, there can be no changes with a qualified majority, and this answers the question of why Democratic Bulgaria is holding talks," said Kiselova.
According to her, efforts are being made to form a government.
In response to a question about whether there is a connection between the talks on a government and the election of the Prosecutor General, Assoc. Prof. Kiselova suggested that an indirect connection could be sought.
Asked whether the procedure for the election of Borislav Sarafov, scheduled for January 16, could be stopped by legislation, Natalia Kiselova commented that on January 6, the deadline for opinions from interested parties to whom inquiries have been sent expires, and on January 7, the Committee on Legal Affairs will meet and begin discussing the three draft amendments to the Judiciary Act.
"I do not want to promise that there will be a law on January 16. This is possible, but it may not happen. Rather, he will be elected. He will be nominated, to be appointed by the president by decree. There have been cases in which both this president and the previous one have returned the nomination. President Rumen Radev, long before there was a discussion in the National Assembly about how to proceed, gave clear signals in this direction," the speaker of the parliament also said.
