We secretly hoped that the zero VAT rate for bread would remain at least until the summer. We are about to calculate the exact price of both bread and our other products, because the prices of flour also include VAT. Electricity is also becoming more expensive. Gas has also been increasing in price for the third month in a row. Last month it was by 6 and 7 percent, and now on top of this increased price - by 8 percent. And we mainly work with gas.

This was told to BTA by the owner and manager of the bakery for the production of bread and pastries "Philadelphia" Valeri Vlaescu.

He added that his company is therefore only going to raise the price of the final product by about 30-40 stotinki from the beginning of next week due to the return of 20 percent VAT on the price of bread.

"We are going to calculate the exact price of both bread and our other production, because the prices of flour also include VAT. Electricity is also getting more expensive. Gas has been getting more expensive for the third month. Last month it was by 6 and 7 percent, and now on top of this increased price - by 8 percent. And we work mainly with gas", Vlaescu also said.

A check by BTA in some of the Ruse stores showed that the prices of bread from various manufacturers are already higher.

One of the grocery stores in the central part of the city reported to BTA that after the New Year, suppliers brought bread that was 34 to 35 stotinki more expensive. Thus, the price of a 600-gram package of "Dobrudzha" type bread is now 1.95 leva instead of the previous 1.60 leva.

In different neighborhoods, this type of bread costs between 1.70 and 1.90 leva, depending on the manufacturer and weight, and 650-gram bread of "Stara Zagora" type even reaches 2.10 leva.
