There is nothing risky in Budget 2025, believe economist Rumen Galabinov and financier Levon Hampartzumyan. On the air of the program “Your Day” on NOVA NEWS, the two discussed the state's budget and Bulgaria's opportunities to enter the eurozone.
”Pensions and salaries of civil servants will continue to be paid, the state will continue to collect revenues”, believes Galabinov. “We will probably spend as much as last January”, predicts financier Levon Hampartzumyan.
Galbinov is optimistic that our country can be accepted into the eurozone.
“The budget will be adopted. It is possible that at the end of January the government will request extraordinary convergence reports to set a date for entering the eurozone in 2025 or 2026”, he said. According to him, we are excellent in terms of Maastricht indicators.
According to Hampartzumyan, it is better to complete the procedure of the ERM II -2 exchange rate mechanism with success.
“In Schengen, the key problem is the permeability of the North-South transport corridor in connection with the tension between Russia and Europe. It is important there that if troops, goods and things of strategic importance need to cross, they do not have to ask the owner of the parking lot at the “Danube Bridge” if they can cross,” said Hampartzumyan.
Regarding the restaurant owners' request to maintain the lower VAT for them, Hampartzumyan said that it is easier to have a single tax rate, and the tax reduction has not been felt by the customers of the establishments. “The role of VAT is not to be a third or fourth social network,” Hampartzumyan also said.
