Dyankov: Our companies will not be able to do business with Lukoil while Alikperov is the owner and Vorobyov is the dire - 1

The US has imposed sanctions on companies and individuals, including the majority owner of “Lukoil” - Yusuf Alekperov and CEO Vadim Vorobyov, who deals with all business outside of Russia, including our “Neftokhim” refinery in Burgas.

This was stated by Simeon Dyankov, Minister of Finance in Boyko Borisov's first cabinet, to NOVA.

This means that from February 27, companies from Bulgaria cannot do business with “Lukoil”, while Alikperov is the owner and Vorobyov is the director. The refinery must either nationalize itself from Bulgaria more quickly or find another owner.

According to Dyankov, these sanctions do not affect the gas station chain and there is no need for queues.

“The negotiations for a government are officially continuing, they have actually reached a successful conclusion. I can say with a great deal of certainty that we will have a regular cabinet and it will become clear within the next week”, said Dyankov.

“Although there is a principled agreement between GERB-SDF, ITN and BSP, with the support of the ASP in parliament, there are still talks in their executive committees so that they accept this coalition agreement. There are still attempts to talk with the DB - in some form, if not support from the government, to have support in the National Assembly for some basic policies. This will take at least another 1-2 days”, he also said.

In his words “Borisov has always wanted the DB as a coalition partner and has taken many steps to make this happen”. He added that the DB continues to hesitate to participate in a coalition government.

Dyankov pointed out that the ministers in the new cabinet will be from GERB-SDS, ITN and "BSP - United Left", without the "Alliance for Rights and Freedoms", and the ministerial positions are according to the formula 9-4-4, i.e. 9 for GERB-SDS, 4 for ITN and 4 for "BSP - United Left". He was categorical that the negotiations have ended.
