The correspondent of the newspaper "Telegraph" and a long-time collaborator of "Glasove" Elena Dyulgerova and her 4-year-old grandson were killed in a fire in Stara Zagora, FOCUS reported, citing a print edition.
The fire alarm was reported last night after 11:00 p.m. The flames broke out in a housing cooperative on "Tsar Kaloyan" Street in the city of lime trees. The 62-year-old woman and her grandson were asleep and did not realize they were burning, firefighters explained.
The child's body was removed later in the day during a re-examination, confirmed Senior Inspector Mihail Mihov, head of the "Operations Center" group at the Stara Zagora fire department. Despite the quick response of the firefighters, the fire was extremely intense, which necessitated the emergency evacuation of residents from neighboring apartments.
62-year-old Elena Dyulgerova attempted to save her grandson, but unfortunately died of suffocation. Initial data indicate that the cause of the fire was a malfunction in a dryer.
