Sacheva: It has become clear exactly where the Rubicon was in our negotiations with the Democratic Party - 1

We are realistic and well aware of the difficulties we face, as well as the complex configuration of governance, which ultimately - gave results. We are pragmatic, to do the work, to give a final result and we hope that this result will be useful to society. This was stated in the program "Face to Face" on bTV by Denitsa Sacheva, deputy chairwoman of the GERB-SDF PG.

„It has now become clear exactly where the Rubicon was in our negotiations with "Democratic Bulgaria". The name of the prime minister was the main problem, because we agreed to almost all the conditions and all the texts that were presented by “Democratic Bulgaria“. Not only us, but also the colleagues from “There is such a people“ and from the BSP as well“, explained Sacheva.

“I know that this mantra goes on all the time – that's why everything happened. That various redactions have disappeared in the texts of the agreement, but in essence this is not true, because everything is there that we agreed on. The only thing that the colleagues continue to claim is related to the name of Delyan Peevski. And I want to emphasize that the name of Mr. Peevski did not come out of the agreement, and there is a text in it that includes any influence in the judicial system. Because the DB specifically wanted to write “the influence of Delyan Peevski“, and the dispute here was to include all influences. "Influences in the judicial system must be completely excluded," she specified.

According to her, the decision not to include "Democratic Bulgaria" in the government was made by GERB, but was supported by the BSP and "There is such a people."

"The objective reality is that the populists from "We continue the change" remain out of power, and there is also a party that defends pro-Russian interests - "Vazrazhdane". I do not define the BSP as a pro-Russian party. This is a party that is a member of the Party of European Socialists (PES). My colleagues from the ITN have recently also been members of the European Conservatives. This government is European and aims to normalize a situation in Bulgaria, in which the country has been in free fall for almost four years,“ she also said.

According to her, GERB, “BSP-United Left“ and “There is such a people“ will continue to have differences on some ideological issues and balances will probably be sought.

“But the fact that GERB is the leading party is an absolute guarantee that this government will defend European policies,“ the deputy chairman of the GERB-SDF PG also emphasized.
