This was stated to journalists in parliament by the deputy chairwoman of the GERB-SDF parliamentary group Denitsa Sacheva, who commented on the information that the opposition parties will not receive chairperson positions in the parliamentary committees, BTA reports.
„We have repeatedly held talks about the distribution of committees before our joint governance was formed and we have discussed these topics and issues. In the joint governance that we have currently formed, it was extremely difficult to achieve balances between the different political groups. We decided that we must act promptly and we must be able to move quickly everything that is to be adopted in the coming months. Only the results of our work can ensure trust in this joint governance“, she said.
Sacheva emphasized that the opposition will have 44 deputy chairpersons, who are also leaders. She added that the decision to do so is political.
“If the opposition has good political ideas, it could implement them in the ways that parliamentary democracy offers, not necessarily through chairpersons in the committees. Political responsibility is to be borne by the parties that formed the joint governance“, said Denitsa Sacheva.
She also announced that a new meeting of the Joint Governance Council is coming up, at which the country's financial situation will be discussed and emphasized that the data of the Finance Minister are worrying.
Asked for a comment on the upcoming vote to lift several MPs' immunity, as well as on the words of the leader of "DPS-New Beginning" Delyan Peevski this morning, Sacheva replied: „Peevski is emerging as the leader of the opposition. In their quest to escape from him, their colleagues from PP-DB will obviously now work under his leadership as an opposition party. Let's wait and see what the vote will be on Friday“.
„GERB has always been against the use of institutions for political purposes“, added Sacheva.
A governing and legislative program is to be presented within a month, she also recalled.
