The European Commission has confirmed that no Bulgarian ship is on the list of sanctioned vessels of the European Union. The information was provided by a spokesperson for the European Commission during an official press conference in Brussels, in response to a journalistic question regarding the case of the ship "Vezhen", BNR specified.

"Currently, the EU sanctions list includes 79 vessels, the majority of which are tankers for transporting oil and methane", the spokesperson for the European Commission explained.

Asked about the EC's position on the latest incident in the Baltic Sea, the representative of the European institution stated that the Commission cannot comment on ongoing investigations. However, he stressed that the EC expressed its sympathy for the Baltic States.

The speaker emphasized that the security of critical infrastructure remained a priority. The European Commission was actively working to improve damage detection systems and improve the possibilities for their repair.

He added that while the protection of strategic facilities was the responsibility of individual member states, the European Commission was ready to provide support in the investigation of incidents and the development of security systems for critical facilities.
